FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alpha Video's Sports & Entertainment Group Integrates University of Kansas
HD technology at Memorial Stadium gives the school's football program new game presentation capabilities
Minneapolis, MN, February 5, 2010 – Alpha Video's Sports & Entertainment Group, the leading national integrator and specialist for the sports and entertainment industry, annouced that it has been awarded a contract for the new high definition replay control room at Memorial Stadium, home of the University of Kansas Football program. The control room technology, provided by Alpha Video, will feed the stadium's new Daktronics HD LED video board.
The design/build project at Memorial Stadium is based on Alpha Video's relationship with the University, and its successful completion of the standard definition control room at Allen Field House, home of the University of Kansas Basketball program, several years ago. Equipment in the integration of the new control room includes: three Sony HXC-100 cameras, a Ross Video Vision 2 production switcher, a Harris routing switcher and multi-image viewer, an EVS slo-motion system, Click-Effects CrossFire graphics, Ensemble Designs terminal equipment, and Sony XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX VTR's.
Jeffery Volk, Director, Alpha Video Sports & Entertainment Group, says, "It is a privilege to be able to work with the University of Kansas on this project for the football program. We have enjoyed a long working relationship with Kansas Athletics and are excited to bring a new level of game presentation capabilities to Memorial Stadium. This high definition system will rival any system in the area and will entertain Kansas Football fans for years to come."
Mike Lickert, Director, Rock Chalk Video, says, "After working with Alpha Video on our basketball control room for Allen Fieldhouse, we were confident and excited to enter into this partnership to build our new HD Football room. They have proven to provide extraordinary value and a thorough knowledge of what equipment is necessary to run a first class production."
The system will be completed in the spring of 2010 in time for the Kansas Relays and the Kansas Football Spring Game. For more information from Alpha Video's Sports & Entertainment Group, please contact Jeffrey Volk at (952) 896-9898.
