HD Control Room Drives 4th Largest Scoreboard in Major League Baseball
Alpha Video’s Sports & Entertainment Group was contracted by Mortenson Construction to integrate the HD Video Control Room for the new Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins. The control room drives video and animation to the 57’ x 101’ HD-X LED scoreboard – the fourth largest in Major League Baseball.
The equipment Alpha Video installed at Target Field included multiple Sony HDC-1400 and PDW-700 cameras, Nucomm wireless camera systems, a Ross Vision 3 production switcher, Evertz HD and AES routing switchers with integrated multi-image viewers, a six-channel EVS slow motion system, a Ross SMS video server, Sony HDCAM and Panasonic DVCPRO HD VTR’s, an Apple Final Cut Pro editing system and a Riedel intercom system. The control room includes three main areas: main production, two editing suites and the AV equipment/rack room. Up to 25 people can be working in the control room on game day.
